CAS sponsors and co-sponsors a variety of events each year, geared towards families with children affected by autism. CAS’ wonderful team of employees volunteers at each event to provide support to ensure the success of each child and family’s active participation. As events draw closer, actual dates, times, locations, and registration information of each event are updated on this page. For any additional information on any of these events, feel free to contact our office at 916-923-1789. All events listed below are free of charge and open to all families in the local communities affected by autism. Snow Tubing Day - This annual event, sponsored by CAS, is for anyone who loves to play in the snow. We have partnered with “Tubes R Us”, specialists in tubing located off I-80 in Soda Springs, to host a day of snow tubing on a privately reserved hill top. Families are welcome to come out and snow tube down the hill, build a snowman or sit by the fire inside the lodge while enjoying a warm cup of hot chocolate. This event occurs in February. Check our website during the months of January and February for dates and times, as well as registration information, each year. Summer Splash
Water-Ski Day – Capitol Autism Services and Sacramento Water Ski
Club have partnered to sponsor an annual event of fun on the water. Held on
a small, privately owned lake 15 minutes from downtown Sacramento, it is a
day of waterski instruction, water tubing, kneeboard and boat riding for
individuals 5-18 years of age on the autism spectrum. Staff and volunteers
from these organizations are on hand to support those individuals capable of
engaging in sports activities with assistance. The day typically consists of
four, two hour sessions for up to 8 individuals per session. Refreshments are
served throughout the event, which is held in Clarksburg, CA at Lake
Winchester. This event typically occurs in July/August. |
