Instructional Assistant

This part time (approximately 30.5 hours per week) position requires an energetic, positive person who is dedicated to motivating children to learn while utilizing the methodology of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to educate our students. As an Instructional Assistant, you will be required to provide assistance to the teacher by leading small group teaching sessions and conducting individualized instruction while following lesson plans and recording data legibly and accurately. Depending on each student’s individual needs, you may be required to assist in problem behavior reduction as well as assisting the students with toileting, feeding, and other self help skills throughout the day.

Special Skills & Requirements

Availability Monday-Friday, 7:45-2:15 (one day per week until 2:45)
Patience and creativity
Experience with individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and/or special needs
Ability to maintain composure under stress and take direction
Ability to record data legibly and accurately
Knowledge of ABA and other relevant teaching methodologies
Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to pass a Department of Justice fingerprint screening
Must provide proof of a negative TB screening
