Collaborative Behavioral & Medical Treatment Approach
Our position as the largest clinical ABA service provider in Sacramento and the surrounding areas affords us unique familiarity with the options and choices families face after recent diagnosis. Often times it is in these early stages when key treatment decisions are addressed which ultimately affect the overall course of care. By combining our collective behavioral insight with medical treatment options we can begin to assemble the most effective means to deliver the most immediate and appropriate services and support to the autism community at large.
When considering treatments for a child with autism, traditional approaches have included medical or behavioral treatment options with limited opportunity for collaboration across disciplines.
An integrative approach supports the coordination of resources between the physician, medical team and education/behavioral intervention providers. Research has demonstrated the effective application of ABA in medication tracking and modifications, feeding disorders, sleep disorders, as well as behavioral skills teaching for comorbid and related medical conditions. This multidisciplinary approach is often successful in remedying complicated disorders in a matter of months, versus years with traditional approaches.
This model of collaboration is designed to offer a new paradigm of collaboration in cross-functional areas and programs including:
- Orientation for Parents of Newly Diagnosed Children – Parent education, treatment options, and referral processing.
- Parent and Sibling Support – Recreational and informational peer support for parents and siblings.
- Intensive Individual and Parent Training Session – Applying ABA principles to intensive training exercises.
- ABA Supported Occupational and Speech Therapy
- Resource and Service Guidance – Ongoing support to help parents with provider options, educational services, funding information, research, and transition planning.
