Private Insurance Funding for ABA Services

With the passage of the landmark California Senate Bill 946, which requires health insurance providers to cover Applied Behavior Analysis services to individuals diagnosed with pervasive developmental disorder (PDD) or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Capitol Autism Services is excited to announce that we are currently partnering with private insurance providers as funding sources for our in-home programs.

Our active participation in enrolling as Applied Behavior Analysis providers with a wide range of insurance companies is allowing us to expand our capability for meeting the needs of those individuals who can be most positively impacted by our services. In anticipation of the passage of SB 946, Capitol Autism Services began the process of partnering with private-insurance companies in 2011, and this proactive approach has allowed us to be ahead of the curve as this legislation becomes fully enacted.

Capitol Autism Services is currently accepting ABA referrals from the following health insurance companies:

• Aetna
• Anthem Blue Cross
• Blue Shield of CA
• Coventry
• Value Options

To determine if you are eligible for insurance coverage for Applied Behavior Analysis services please see the following eligibility criteria:

• Do you live in California?
• Does your child or another individual in your care have a medical diagnosis of pervasive developmental disorder or autism spectrum disorder?
• Do you have insurance?

If you answer ‘yes’ to the above questions then you should be eligible for insurance coverage for our Applied Behavior Analysis services.
